The estimated input-processing midpoint is higher at 1,834 tok/s.

Image and video generation

Check the media model

LLM speed does not tell you media-generation performance. Choose the image or video model and resolution separately.

Estimated power draw

Mac mini M4 Pro 64GB

Estimated LLM power draw is lower at about 95 W. Noise and physical size need a separate check.

Local pricing

Mac mini M4 Pro 64GB is the price of finished product, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is the price of GPU separately. For individual GPUs, you need to add the cost of the main body before comparing.

Choose between smaller VRAM and larger shared memory

The 5060 Ti uses 16GB VRAM separately from system RAM; Mac mini shares 64GB across CPU, GPU and apps. Separate the room for a large file in unified memory from the speed of a smaller model fitting VRAM. Offloading between system RAM and GPU also depends on the PC configuration.

Will you also use image-generation tools?

If you also want image or video tools, check their CUDA and Mac support. One LLM's generation speed does not cover every workload. Compare text responses here, then inspect the image and video experience linked from device details for the models you will use.

An existing PC changes the extra cost

If the PC already has suitable power, slots and cooling, adding a GPU can be the starting cost. A new PC also needs CPU, board, RAM, SSD, PSU and case. For Mac mini, add a display and input devices if required. Separate owned parts from new purchases for a fair budget.
